What an Affiliate Link Is
An affiliate link is a special URL that includes a tracking code. When you click it and make a purchase, the retailer can see that you came from our site, and they pay us a referral fee. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you went directly to the retailer's website — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

Affiliate Relationships Do Not Affect Recommendations
We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews or guaranteed placement in a guide. A product is included in our content because we believe it is a good fit for dorm living — not because it generates a higher commission.
In practice, this means:
- We do not write fake or inflated reviews to earn commissions
- We do not hide negative information about a product to protect a relationship
- We do not claim to have personally tested products we have not tested
- If a product we have recommended changes in quality or value, we will update or remove the recommendation
